Meadow Field

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ’s

What do I need to bring?

The great thing about glamping is that everything (we hope) has been provided for you!
We do recommend bringing wellies and outdoor clothing to suit the weather conditions at the time of your stay. A good torch will be helpful also (but we do provide a torch in the safari tent). Slippers, warm clothes and layers are always useful, although the log burning stove, electric blankets, thick cosy duvets, throws and bedroom and bathroom heaters should all help to keep you toasty and warm.

You will need to bring baby bedding though if you are borrowing our travel cot.

How do we get there?

We will send you a welcome email a few days before you arrive with directions and instructions where to park. Please make sure you’ve used a current email address and mobile number on the booking form so that this information reaches you. If you haven’t heard from us before you arrive please check your spam folder in case our email has gone there. Information can also be found in our “Contact Us” section.

What time can we check in?

We ask that you check in please between 5pm and 8pm. If you think your arrival time will be later than 8pm, please let us know so that we can ensure someone is available to greet you. We may be able to welcome you earlier than 5pm so please do check with us ahead of your arrival.

Cars are not permitted within the glamping field, however the car parking area is close by and there will be access to a trolley or barrow to help transfer your belongings to the tent should you need it.

What time do we need to check out?

10.00am please – this allows us time to prepare the accommodation for new guests arriving later that day.

If, however, you are booked in on a term time, extended 2 night weekend stay then check out on the Sunday is any time up to 7pm. If you are unsure please do ask.

What is your cancellation policy?

We realise that sometimes plans change and if you need to cancel your holiday let us know as soon as possible and we will try and work with you to find the best solution.

We do highly recommend that you have appropriate holiday insurance cover.

-If you cancel within eight weeks of your specified arrival date we will endeavour to re-let your safari tent. If we are unable to do so, then we regret that we will be unable to refund any monies paid. There will be no refund under any circumstances.

-Should you cancel more than eight weeks before your intended stay, we will refund any monies paid, less your deposit, or reschedule your stay for another date. An administration fee of £50 may be charged in this instance.

-In the event that we need to cancel your holiday we shall inform you as soon as possible and refund all monies paid to us, by you, within 14 days of notifying you.

Do you accept Stag & Hen Type Party Groups?

Meadow Field Luxury Glamping is primarily a family friendly site. Should you be interested in making an all adult group booking please contact us directly to discuss your requirements before proceeding with any reservation to avoid disappointment should we be unable to accommodate you. Please read our T’s & C’s for more information.

Do you do single night stays?

Due to the size of the accommodation we do not offer 1 night stays.
We highly recomend stays of 3 nights or more in order to make the most of Meadow Field and the gorgeous canvas cabins. So many of our guests have shared with us how they have truly felt the benefit of a longer stay, returning home refreshed and relaxed.

We do offer 2 night mid week breaks (Weds – Fri) and an extended 2 night weekend break (Fri – Sun) with a late check out by 7pm, term time only.

Our 3, 4 & 7 night stays offer a check in on Fridays (for 3 and 7 nights) and a Monday (for 4 night stays).

Do you supply bed linen and towels?

Yes we do. All our bedding is 100% cotton with hypoallergenic duvets and pillows. Bath towels and tea towels are also provided.

Do we need to bring toiletries?

Meadow Field provide quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash & toilet tissue but by all means bring your own as we understand this can be very much a personal choice.

Can we bring our dog or pets?

We welcome one well behaved dog in our Woodhill tent at an additional charge of £25/dog/stay. At our discretion we may consider two. Please refer to our Term’s and Condition’s for more information.

Your four legged friend may prefer their own bed and water bowl, but just in case, we provide a dog bed, old towels, spare dog poop bags, water and feeding station and of course some special doggy treats. We want your canine companion to feel as much at home at Meadow Field as you will.

Do you provide any meals?

Not at this time. But each accommodation has its own well equipped kitchen, offering cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking pots and pans, a twin hob, slow cooker, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, outdoor BBQ and also access to a woodfired pizza oven.

We also have two wonderful, dog friendly pubs within walking distance of the glamping site and a couple of farm shops a short drive away that do the most amazing cooked breakfasts – plus plenty more eateries that we can recommend.

Do you have any rules?

We do indeed – Please review our Terms & Conditions for details.
It’s important to us that all visitors to Meadow Field enjoy their time here and these rules are there to ensure this. Whether it is from a safety perspective or consideration to others.

How Off-Grid are the two tents?

We would not class ourselves as “off grid”.
To make life a little easier, each tent has its own water supply – which serve the shower, two sinks & flushing toilet – and are connected to mains electricity.
However, please feel free to make yourselves as “off grid” as you so desire by disconnecting your gadgets and creating mood lighting with the LED candles and lanterns provided. The wood-burning stove provides heating and with the provision of 15 tog, all season duvets, hot water bottles and electric blankets you should remain toasty and cosy even on the chilliest of nights.

Is there a hob?

Yes, we have fitted a twin zone electric hob. We also provide an electric kettle, toaster, microwave, slow cooker, outdoor gas BBQ and access to a woodfired pizza oven so hopefully all your cooking requirements are catered for.

Is there a fridge?

Yes, there is a fridge freezer in the kitchen area.

Yes, we have a number of power sockets, including USB ports, in both our safari tents.

Can we bring our own disposable bbq, gas bbq, fireworks or candles?

In the interests of safety, the use of disposable or your own gas bbq’s, Chinese lanterns, fireworks, real candles or any other naked flame is prohibited. The tents are mostly constructed out of wood and canvas and at certain times of the year the surrounding fields are full of growing crops that could catch fire from a rogue spark.
We do supply LED candles, lanterns etc. Each tent has access to its own outdoor fire pit for those glorious star gazing nights.

Can we smoke or vape in the tents?

Smoking or using e-cigarettes are not permitted either within the tent or on the deck.

Can we have visitors during our stay?

Under normal conditions, we usually limit the number of day visitors to one family per luxury safari tent at our discretion. Please let us know ahead of your stay should you wish to have any day visitors during your time at Meadow Field.
Please note, for health & safety reasons, we are only insured to have a maximum of six people plus baby/toddler in a travel cot to stay in each safari tent at any one time.

Do you have any age restrictions?

We accept anyone from 0 years old to 110 plus years! However, there must be a responsible adult over the age of 25 years residing in each tent each night.

We do not at this time have hot tubs but each tent does have a fabulous luxury spa type experience shower pod boasting bluetooth technology, ambient lighting and a choice of shower settings from monsoon deluge to massaging shower jets.

Can we have food deliveries to site?

Due to the restricted access to the farm we are, unfortunately, unable to receive supermarket food deliveries.
Please can you bring all food you need for your stay with you when you arrive and any take away food orders must be collected by yourselves. Thank you.

We do have a couple of wonderful farm shops not too far away that you can visit Malt Kiln Farm Shop or Manor Farm Shop  to top up your supplies and have detailed a number of eatery options on our Explore the Area page including the location of our nearest supermarkets.

What is the maximum capacity for each tent?

The luxury safari tents sleep up to 6 plus a baby/toddler in a travel cot.

Please note this may take between 5 – 10 business days to show on your statement – depending on the bank you use. Please refer to our T’s and C’s for more information.

What is your environmental policy?

Where possible and without compromising on the luxury element of your stay here at Meadow Field, we have considered our environmental impact.
-Recycling bins are available which we encourage you to use during your stay with us.
-The farm has its own 50kw solar panel array which powers the tents during the day.
-Wood for the log burners is sourced responsibly, usually from a local supplier.
-The farm works closely with DEFRA and their environmental schemes to provide a beneficial farming landscape for wildlife. Some examples of which are the planting of nectar rich areas, not cultivating fields over winter and leaving hedgerows uncut.
